Though the Sandalwood plantation is our major focus, with a thousand trees growing, the harvesting of these trees is many years away. With a development of this kind it is necessary to look at the present uses of Sandalwood to try and forecast the future uses of Sandalwood products.

Mount Romance is extracting the oil and making perfume and perfumed products. New Mountain P/L is the clearing house and primary processor of Sandalwood in WA. They make Joss and aroma sticks for export and export billet timber.

The latest Quandong product development has been a brewed alcoholic drink. An after dinner sticky, 17% sugar and 16%? alcohol. Well balanced acid and tannins with notes of strawberry and new mown hay.

Experimental stock held for four years has improved with age. The colour has deepened and more complex flavours have established.

This product is not commercially available.
