The kernels of the Quandong ( Santalum acuminatum ) contain similar chemicals and with the expansion of the Quandong as a new horticultural crop there is now large quantities santalum kernels available for research.

The Australian Quandong Industry association would be interested to hear from any research group that wish to explore the potential of the organic pharmaceuticals contained within the Santalum kernels.
